Was rancher William Henry Long really the
Sundance Kid? Long's bones were dug up in
the Duchesne, Utah City Cemetery in 2007.
The investigation began in 2007. Old family stories tied Long to the outlaw gang known as "The Wild Bunch." The leaders, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, supposedly died in a shootout in South America in 1908, but evidence proves William Henry Long "AKA" The Sundance Kid lived to a ripe old age and died in Utah in 1936. This is the actual picture that was passed around at a family reunion in Fremont, Utah in 2005 when the Great Grandson of Bill Long one Jerry Nickle took one look at it and heard these words... Who am I? It was as if his dead great grandfather was whispering directly to him from the grave. This set Jerry's heart on fire and the quest began.
